McGladrey & Pullen responds to needs of growing international companies
(BLOOMINGTON, Minn., May 8, 2006) – It’s no secret: The number of up-and-coming U.S. businesses with complex financial activities abroad continues to grow. And with that burgeoning growth comes an increasing need for sage counsel from auditors who know the ins and outs of international financial matters.
In response to that need, McGladrey & Pullen has appointed Bob Dohrer, partner and veteran member of McGladrey & Pullen’s National Audit and Accounting Office, to assist companies that conduct international operations with their audit services from an office based in Europe. Starting in October, Dohrer will split time between McGladrey & Pullen headquarters in Bloomington, Minn. and an office in London where he’ll help U.S. and foreign-based auditors conduct audits on an international level.
“Although our firm has had the necessary resources to complete an international audit through our affiliation with RSM International, Bob’s presence in Europe will be a great asset to any U.S. company doing business there,” says Leroy Dennis, McGladrey & Pullen’s executive partner of audit and accounting. “Bob is well-versed in U.S. and international auditing standards.”
Dohrer is currently a partner with McGladrey & Pullen’s National Office of Audit and Accounting and serves as a member of the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and on several AICPA task forces. In addition, as a member of a task force comprised of representatives of the eight largest public accounting firms, he deals with issues related to audits of internal control pursuant to Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and frequently interacts with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board relative to these issues.
