Career paths for college graduates
What you can expect as you start your career
We want you to jump right in, gaining as much experience as possible, as quickly as possible. You will receive a new-hire buddy to help you answer the general questions that go along with starting a new job. You will also be assigned a performance advisor whom you can refer to for technical advisement as you navigate the learning curve. After a week of orientation, you will immediately begin to work as a team member in your service group.
Expectations
You will be provided with assignments that will expose you to client personnel and different industries such as manufacturing, health care or financial services. Responsibilities of staff members can vary from office to office depending on the needs of our clients and industries in those demographic areas. Travel can be expected to serve clients.

Technology learned in the first year:
- Audit and/or Tax software

- Accessibility of National Resources – courses recommended by your performance advisor
- Lotus Notes manuals
Technology (for new audit associate):
- Computerized general ledger software used in conjunction with client system
- Linking of financial reports
- IDEA software for sampling and data extraction
- Paperless audit technology
- Other financial software, i.e., Tvalue
Technology (for new tax associate):
- Online access to tax research
- Bridge capabilities from audit general ledger software to tax return software
- Consolidated and multi-state returns
- Fixed asset software

We offer one-on-one training locally to help employees attain their career goals We have an extensive national training program in place for you to succeed at all levels during your career advancement.
CPA requirements
A CPA is an exceptionally valuable designation. All associates are strongly encouraged to obtain their CPA as early in their careers as is reasonable. Achieving formally recognized professional state is your personal responsibility. Each state has different rules in regards to obtain a CPA designation.
Most states require:
- 150-hour educational requirement
- Minimum one-year work experience under the supervision of a CPA
- Successful completion of CPA exam
